The Simply Legends event was a huge success for MFCC, bringing together music and football for a glamorous, celebrity filled weekend at the beginning of November.
The event kicked off at a football match between England vs Italy Legends at Malta’s National Stadium, featuring players such as Paul Gascoigne and Franco Baresi. Following this, the MFCC hosted a gala dinner where a VIP audience dined with the international footballers. The later part of this evening was attended by Mick Hucknell, lead singer of pop legends Simply Red, who, as part of the special event, headlined a concert the following evening. Needless to say, the VIPs took their place at the front of the 7,500-strong audience.

MFCC offers a ‘blank canvas’ to event organisers and the venue’s in-house design team liaised with the client to create a look that matched their aspirations. The MFCC’s in-house technical and operations manager also ensured the venue’s unique rigging arches were in place to hold the lights, sound and video facilities that would be used for both nights. Diners enjoyed a fine menu prepared by local caterers. The partying continued well into the evening, to music provided by a mixture of local bands and DJs, before coaches took the guest back to the Excelsior Hotel. This is the newest of Malta’s growing number of five star hotels, which is currently in ‘soft opening’ mode before throwing its doors fully open next spring. |
