Malta, at the epicentre of many winter cruise itineraries, was the location for the first Seatrade Winter Cruising Forum, bringing together a cross section of the stake to discuss the potential of expanding year round cruising in the Mediterranean.
The MFCC event support division, under the management of Ruben Caruana was selected to produce the spectacular social program for the international guests attending the conference.
On the first night of the conference the MFCC team presented an artistic display of images and graphics on the St Angelo Fort walls, whilst the guests enjoyed the spectacular visuals from a reception across the Grand Harbour at Upper Barrakka.
On the second night of the Seatrade conference, guests were assembled on the Valetta Grand Harbour quay for a reception, and as they enjoyed their canapés the MFCC delivered a real treat . . . From across the water, Ruben’s team had quietly moved a floating restaurant across the water and as it approached the guests it was revealed by coloured lights to the amazement of all present, as Ruben explained:
“The effect on guests was amazing when they realised that it was their restaurant floating towards them! I have been working on the concept for some time, combining modern clear walled marquee technology with lighting and the floating barge to create a beautiful floating restaurant in one of the World’s most beautiful harbour. I’m sure this will prove to be a popular feature at future events in Malta.”
