Air Malta and The Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre (MFCC) have signed a strategic partnership agreement to promote Malta as a destination for meetings, incentives, conferences and events.
The two companies will take part jointly in overseas fairs, workshops, the hosting of familiarisation trips and marketing and promotion campaigns.
This cooperation is expected to generate substantial benefits for the local tourism and service industry, according to a joint statement.
The national airline’s Chief Executive Officer Joe Cappello said: “Air Malta brings to this partnership 50 destinations, with offices in most European major cities which can help promote Malta’s strategic assets.
“We believe that through this partnership both Air Malta and MFCC can together offer a better product to their customers and capitalise on their respective expertise in their market.”
He said that over the coming months the two organisations will be working on various projects and initiatives in the conference business, starting with the hosting of Air Malta International Travel Exhibition (Amitex) next month.
The MFCC offers a venue with a capacity of 22,000 people and a creative ability to maximise the island’s most beautiful assets into event sites, offering a vast range of services both inside and outside the venue, to make any experience as unique as possible.
“This is a win-win situation where all our marketing expertise is being combined to make our efforts more fruitful,” said Anita Attard, MFCC’s chief executive officer.
The first joint initiative will be the organization of Amitex, which for the first time will be hosted at MFCC ta’ Qali from April 24 to 27th. |
